Dr Lovell qualified from Guys and St Thomas’s Medical School in 1998. He undertook a research degree in stem cell biology and was awarded a PhD in 2010. He trained in Cardiology at the London Chest Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, specialising in heart rhythm disorders.
He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2013. He is also an Honorary Consultant in Cardiology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.
His practice includes the investigation and treatment of all heart rhythm problems, catheter ablation using 3-D mapping systems and all aspects of device therapy inclusive of pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy for heart failure. He has a particular interest in the catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.
